eSUN, a China-based manufacturer of 3D printing filaments, and Sindoh, a 3D printer manufacturer based in South Korea have signed an agreement for global strategic cooperation at the Inside 3D Printing Conference, in Seoul, Korea.
The agreement, which was signed on June 27th, will enable both companies to use each other’s resources in order to accelerate the distribution of 3D printers and peripheral products, increase brand promotion, and allow market expansion.
Collaborations within eSUN and Sindoh
In 2014, eSUN became the main filament provider for a range of Sindoh printers; following this collaboration, the companies became strategic partners.
Two years later, eSUN started to distribute Sindoh’s line of 3D printers, in particular, the 3DWOX desktop 3D printers series, within the Chinese market. Following this partnership, iSUN3D, an affiliated company of eSUN, has become a key player for manufacturing 3D printing consumables within the Asian market; This is due to the popularity of the iSUN3D’s 3D printing pen.
The Strategic Partnership Plan
Included in the Global Strategic Cooperation agreement, eSUN has also launched the Strategic Partnership Plan to differentiate its positioning and open innovation within the Asian market.
Simon Yin, Manager of 3D International Business at eSUN, shared the development strategy with the representatives of Sindoh.
Upon observing the development of global 3D printing, eSUN’s strategic plan will integrate its sales experience and resources for distribution channels as a platform for collaboration with the industry brands – which Sindoh has already demonstrated.
Throughout this partnership, eSUN also plans to offer its customers a more comprehensive and convenient one-stop buying service, that will help them decrease the cost and enable more users to reap the benefits of 3D printing.
With an established foundation for eSUN and Sindoh, the agreement plans to reach other 3D printing manufacturers and solutions providers to build both product portfolios.
Strategic agreements in additive manufacturing
Similarly, BigRep, the large format 3D printing specialists, and BASF, a global materials company have recently formed a partnership to develop industrial 3D printing materials for BigRep systems.
Also, Fincantieri Australia, a localized branch of international shipbuilding company Fincantieri has signed a Material Science Testing agreement with industrial metal additive manufacturing company Titomic. This agreement will advance the manufacturing of large marine parts using metal 3D printers.
