While the 3D Printshow and the Inside series of international trade fairs focus on 3D printing, just about every trade show in the world is beginning to pay attention to how 3D printing can affect their particular area of business. Aerospace, manufacturing, medical, consumer electronics, jewelry, fashion: in all these areas 3D printing is ever more present.
Tarsus, a large UK group that organizes many of these shows throughout the world, has thus acquired a 60% stake in the 3D Printshow, to use it as a “binder” and further exploit synergies between 3D printing and its events in aerospace, medical and industrial manufacturing.
Since Tarsus just closed its first fiscal half of FY 2014 with revenues of £23.1, their support will allow Kerry Hogarth, the 3D Printshow’s founder – who will remain at the helm – to further invest in expanding the show’s activity. “We’re really excited to have been chosen by Tarsus. With the growing international audience for 3D printing, it’s an incredible time to invest and develop our brand,” Hogarth said.
3D Printshow currently has events in London (early next september), Paris and New York, but there are plans to widen the show’s reach to Brasil, Germany, Italy and other countries.
“This acquisition represents a fantastic opportunity to enter this exciting sector,” Tarsus’ Managing Director, Douglas Emslie, said. “We look forward to working with Kerry to continue building this market-leading brand into new geographies and vertical markets.”
With the trade show’s expansion and new acquisition, you’ve got one more reason not to miss the 3D Printshow wherever you are in the world.
