LUTYEN, an Australian robotics and 3D printing technology company, has completed the sale and transportation of its premier, large-scale construction 3D printer- the Platypus X4 Special Edition – to 3VIMA, a construction start-up based in New South Wales. The company recently sold this same system to construction companies in the UK and the UAE. The system can print entire structures up to 8m wide and 4m high and is easily transported to the construction site, where it remains highly mobile.
“Using our state-of-the-art 3D printer and technology, combined with our award-winning Ultimatecrete Strength concrete mix, 3VIMA is positioning itself as the leader of hybrid building practices in Australia,” said Ahmed Mahil, Co-founder and CEO of LUTYEN 3D. “This is an extremely exciting time for Australia and the 3D building and construction sector worldwide.”

I save on overseas transport costs, and the best thing is, I will have ongoing service from Ahmed and his team.”
“The design of the X4 Special Edition is exceptional, as it has the capacity to do an entire house in a single print setup, it takes less than two hours to assemble on-site. 3VIMA’s pipeline projects include a cottage-style resort in the Blue Mountains.
