The Tainan branch of Taiwan Everplast Machinery Co., Ltd. cooperated with C-Hub of Cheng Kung University this year to research cement-based 3D printing technology. One of the results of the study is the development of a pellet cement-like material to use in extrusion 3D printing of furniture structures.
Cement 3D printing technology has been growing worldwide with several major companies that have invested in bringing this technology into the construction industry. This is one of the first cases in Taiwan. Everplast saw this business opportunity and actively expanded its 3D department, expected that this technology will be used in Taiwan’s construction industry, interior decoration, art design and other related industries in the future.
Manufacturing on Demand
Everplast, a company with over 26 of experience in the production of machines for plastics processing, developed its pellet extrusion 3D printer to address a common issue of standard FDM 3D printers, such as a lack of variety in materials, limited applications and time-consuming process.
The Pellet extrusion system ensures higher printing speeds (between 30% and 70% faster than filament systems) with a much wider range of materials broadening the possible fields of application. The system is also equipped with a patented and exclusive nozzle to strengthen both the speed & accuracy in printing. Everplast expects the new pellet extrusion 3D printers to become a significant business for the company after receiving orders from customers in Europe, enabling the company to strengthen its position in segments such as automotive parts, castings, special molding, prosthesis and large figurines.
