Windsor, Cananda-based Kelcom has signed an agreement with 3D Systems to offer an extensive line of high performance 3D printers. The company, locally owned and operated since 1969, provides consumers with high-quality communication solutions from smartphones to mobile internet with divisions including call centre services, barcode scanners, high speed internet services and more. The agreement makes Kelcom the only supplier of industrial 3D printing technology in the Canadian Windsor to London corridor.
Kelcom is already working with manufacturing and healthcare businesses including Proto Manufacturing to print custom designed three dimensional parts that are used in the manufacturing of X-ray measurement equipment and a local dental lab and dentist on improving the turn-around time and cost of producing surgical guides using 3D printers.
Leonard Colucci, manager at Kelcom said: “We have been at the forefront of innovation for 45 years. 3D printing provides Windsor, Sarnia, London with cutting edge technology that has the potential to revolutionize traditional manufacturing and providing greater efficiencies to other sectors like healthcare and engineering as well.”
Kelcom is also working with WEtech Alliance ― a local technology community that fosters entrepreneurship, innovation and collaboration ― to extend the advantages of additive manufacturing technologies to companies in the area. Kelcom and WEtech have partnered for the 3D Tech Show that will include the wealth of experience and expertise of the local 3D Systems district manager, three 3D printing machines and a range of print samples. The 3D Tech Show will be hosted between 4:00 – 8:00 pm on October 26 from in Kelcom’s showroom.
