3D printing has been playing an important role in many industries for its fast prototype and fast production. And now, it shows its significant function and influence in emergency cases, like the novel coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19).
During this period, some people, especially medical professionals, need to wear masks for several hours even the whole daytime. Pain and irritation happen to ears after long-time pressure from the elastic band of masks.
To reduce the pressure and avoid pain, 3D modelers have designed several types of extension connector bands for masks. By transferring the mask from hanging on the ears to the head, the extension band helps to reduce the pressure to the ears and avoid discomfort.
3D printing enthusiasts and companies have shown their sense of kindness and responsibility. In China, millions of extension bands have been 3D printed and donated to hospitals all over the country.
To help more people, the modelers are so kind to share these designs for public use. You could check the STL files below and 3D print for non-commercial use.
Please use non-toxic materials like PLA to 3D print it. Size could be modified to suit for kids or adults. You could also find online 3D Printing services or local 3D printing shops if you don’t have a 3D printer.
