With the increasing confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) all over the world, more and more people are suggested to take precaution measures to lower the risk of infection such as wearing masks and washing hands thoroughly.

However, the rapidly growing demand for masks is far beyond the current stock and capacity of production in any country. Price has multiplied but there’re still a lot of people who couldn’t get a mask.

3D modelers and 3D printing professionals in China have designed a reusable facial mask frame, which could be 3D printed and used together with air filters to offer protection.

The mask frame could be disinfected for repeat use. Size could be adjusted for a better fit. You could also add names on the mask or change colors for distinction.

The air filter inside could be changed after use. Any air filter paper or mask filter that is bigger than the frame would be suitable for the prevention of aerial droplets entering your mouth and nose.
