Insta3DP calculates shipping as one combined cost made up of a courier minimum charge and, when applicable, an additional amount based on the models’ combined volumetric weight. These are two parts of the same shipping estimate—not separate shipping charges for individual models.

How the shipping cost is calculated

1. Minimum Shipping Charge

The Minimum Shipping Charge is the courier’s minimum charge for each shipment, based on the minimum billable weight. It establishes the starting cost of shipping the order.

For air express shipments, the minimum chargeable weight is generally 0.5kg.

2. Additional Volumetric Shipping Cost

The Additional Volumetric Shipping Cost is the estimated additional shipping calculated from the combined volumetric weight of all models in the order. It applies only to the portion that increases the shipment beyond the courier’s minimum charge.

Model volumes are combined before this additional amount is estimated. Insta3DP does not add a separate minimum shipping charge to every model.

What appears at checkout

The customer-facing total is shown as Shipping Cost. It includes the courier’s minimum shipping charge and the additional cost estimated from the models’ combined volumetric weight.

If the amount is subject to confirmation after packing, it may be shown as Estimated Shipping Cost. In that case, the displayed amount includes the courier’s minimum charge and an additional estimate based on model volume.

The final cost may vary after the models are packed and the shipment’s actual billable weight is confirmed.

Example

If the combined volumetric weight of the models stays within the courier’s minimum billable weight, the order is charged only the minimum shipping charge. If it exceeds that threshold, only the additional estimated shipping above the minimum is added.
