The company has just announced its latest acquisition, which is totally in line with its latest collaboration, and highlights the company\u2019s focus on drawing consumers into the 3D printing industry by way of interactive toys and popular toy brands. Digital PlaySpace (DPS), is said latest acquisition, it is a proprietary and immersive digital play platform that connects brands, retailers and consumers to 3D printable play activities. Through its two leading digital play properties \u2014 DigitalDollhouse.com and the Dreamhouse Designer Facebook app \u2014 the DPS platform combines home design, gaming and a community environment to deliver a vivid 3D create-and-make experience for children and their parents. With the invitation to create, capture and customize 3D printables the emphasis in absolutely on easy access and fun 3D printing. The results of the fun can either be printed out at home on a Cube<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> 3D printer, or via 3DS\u2019 fulfillment service at Cubify.<\/p>\n<p>Jesyca Durchin, DPS founder and CEO commenting on the acquisition, said: \u201cWe are thrilled to integrate our virtual and actual play experiences directly into the 3DS Cubify platform. We designed Digital PlaySpace from the bottom-up for publishing flexibility and scalability, and 3DS is the perfect home for our growth.\u201d Durchin background is stellar, as a leading developer of interactive and filmed entertainment for girls since 1994, she is also an award-winning producer of both interactive and 3D animated films for Mattel, and has been a key advisor to Disney Theme Parks regarding brand-sponsored exhibitions targeting women.<\/p>\n<p>3D Systems are delighted to have DPS on board too.
