But in a 3D printer market more crowded than ever, is a lot of money enough to get you to stand out?<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to hedge fund managers Jonathan Bailey and BJ Eastwood, Ion Core has up to $10,000,000 to invest in the production of new machines and finally cut back that month long lead time that has dogged them since launching late last year. Although it used to be a ten week lead time, so they\u2019ve already made significant improvements in that area.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-28901\" src=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/3d-printer-zinter-pro-closed.jpg\" alt=\"3d printer zinter pro closed\" width=\"700\" height=\"395\" \/> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-28902\" src=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/3d-printer-zinter-pro-open.jpg\" alt=\"3d printer zinter pro open\" width=\"700\" height=\"395\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But for me, more interesting than the influx of new investment capital is their specific \u2014and targeted \u2014 statement of taking on the 3D printing industry\u2019s big guys:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201c[Ion Core] is now in a position to significantly \u2018up its game\u2019, enabling the company to produce a targeted 1000 printers per month and bring its significant competitive edge to bear in challenging MakerBot (a Stratasys subsidiary) and the Cube (by 3D Systems) 3D printers, in the race for market share in the growing 3D printing industry.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-28903\" src=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/challenge-duel.gif\" alt=\"3d printing challenge duel\" width=\"300\" height=\"160\" \/>That is a call out if I\u2019ve ever heard one. But does the Zinter Pro have a chance against two of the largest and most established 3D printing companies in the world?<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_28904\" style=\"width: 700px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-28904\" src=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/zinter_pro_wideopen.jpg\" alt=\"3d printer zinter pro\" width=\"700\" height=\"441\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">\u201cCome at me bro!\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Zinter Pro is a beautiful, sleek and well-made machine. It\u2019s equipped with dual extruders so you can print in multiple colours or multiple materials. The fully enclosed build space has a fully heated glass print bed with an extremely respectable build volume of 200mm x 200mm x 200mm (7.87 x 7.87 x 7.87). Those specs easily put it in the same league as comparable printers from MakerBot and 3D Systems, unfortunately if you\u2019re in America you\u2019re going to end up paying a lot more for it.
