The latest company to achieve a funding round is Full Spectrum Laser LLC (FSL), and its FSL3D subsidiary based in Las Vegas, NV. The laser and 3D printer engineering and manufacturing company has announced that it has received a $10 million growth equity investment from Summer Street Capital III, L.P., a Buffalo, NY-based private equity fund.<\/p>\n<p>According to FSL, the investment money will be used to expand its engineering and R&amp;D teams as well as to develop sales, marketing, and customer support initiatives. To this end, the company is letting it be known that it is actively hiring \u2014 specific positions can be found here.<\/p>\n<p>The grand plan is for FSL to accelerate development of its next generation affordable laser cutting \/ engraving and 3D printing platforms and thus \u201ccapitalize on the significant market demand for its products.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Henry Liu, PhD, Founder and CEO of FSL and FSL3D: \u201cOur partnership with Summer Street represents a significant milestone in our strategic growth plan. We are excited to accelerate our already rapid growth in the 3D printing market and continue to expand our laser cutting and engraving business.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2010 in his Las Vegas garage by Henry, a Stanford PhD, FSL and wholly-owned 3D printing subsidiary FSL3D; designs, manufactures, and sells a full range of consumer and industrial grade laser products including cutting \/ engraving lasers and the Pegasus Touch Laser 3D Printer. FSL previously raised over $1.0 million from two successful Kickstarter campaigns, but this latest investment is expected to take the company to the next level.<\/p>\n<p>Garth Troxell, a Partner at Summer Street Capital, said: \u201cFSL has assembled a highly talented team and we\u2019re excited by the prospects for the Pegasus Touch and the 2D laser cutters and engravers, as well as additional 3D printers FSL currently has in development utilizing other technologies and materials. Each of these product offerings has excellent growth potential.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>FSL\u2019s latest announcement also teases about new developments, scheduled to become visibile at CES in January. Specifically with developments to the Pegasus Touch 3D printer, smart internet connectivity to deliver 3D content through its built-in patent pending touchscreen-driven  App Store and the \u201crevolutionary patent pending SuperVat.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I can\u2019t quite believe we\u2019re talking about CES again, already.
