These players are being squeezed between new entrants, such like <strong>HP<\/strong> or <strong>Carbon3D<\/strong>, and desktop 3D Printers that have improved dramatically over the last 2 years.<\/p>\n<p>This situation is certainly leading short sellers to pill up as soon as the major listed companies see any rebound in their share price. In the last two weeks of May 2016, short interest in 3D Systems (DDD), Stratasys (SSYS) and Voxeljet (VJET) has significantly increased.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-82300 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/competition-shorters-battle.png\" alt=\"competition-shorters-battle\" width=\"653\" height=\"350\" srcset=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/competition-shorters-battle.png 653w, https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/competition-shorters-battle-280x150.png 280w, https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/competition-shorters-battle-200x107.png 200w, https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/competition-shorters-battle-500x268.png 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 653px) 100vw, 653px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Short interest in<strong> 3D Systems Corp.<\/strong> (NYSE: DDD) rose by 7.3% to 26.95 million shares. Some 25.4% of the company\u2019s float was short. Days to cover rose from five to eight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Stratasys Ltd.<\/strong> (NASDAQ: SSYS) saw short interest rise by 4.3% in the last two weeks of May to about 9.08 million shares, or 18.7% of the company\u2019s float. Days to cover rose from five to nine.<\/p>\n<p>Short interest in <strong>The ExOne Co.<\/strong> (NASDAQ: XONE) dropped 4.9% to 1.8 million shares. About 19.7% of the company\u2019s shares were short.
