The 3D printer manufacturer has announced their current funding round is already in the \u201cdouble digit\u201d millions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the precise figure is undisclosed speaking to  Industry, BigRep\u2019s CEO explained that the funds will be used, \u201cMostly for further growth globally and tech development.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The latest investor in the current B-financing round is the K\u00f6rber Group, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">an international technology group with around 11,500 employees worldwide. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Michael Horn, a member of K\u00f6rber AG&#8217;s Board of Management said, &#8220;In addition to our existing know-how, we want to explore the possibilities of additive manufacturing even more intensively through our joint venture with the IRPD [Foundation of Rapid Product Development] through our participation in BigRep. Photo by Michael Petch<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><b>Increasing global footprint and sales<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kl\u00f6ckner &amp; Co was the first investor in the round, the company is one of the largest producer-independent distributors of steel and metal products and one of the leading steel service center companies worldwide. As <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">previously reported<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Kl\u00f6ckner &amp; Co <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">acquired a ten percent stake in the 3D printing company \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for under 10 million Euros\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in April 2017. BigRep previously received \u20ac7 million in series B funding in 2015. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BigRep\u2019s CEO says working with these German industry giants means his company will be \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">able to further expand the development and solutions as well as increase our global footprint and sales.&#8221; Gurka adds, <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;K\u00f6rber is a very experienced technology company that can support us not only financially, but also in industrial machine building. We are looking forward to working with our new colleagues.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BigRep was founded in 2014 and the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the company now has over 70 employees. Under the agreement TNO is working with BigRep to develop the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Print Valley project aka the Sushi printer<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Footage of the Print Valley project shows <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3D printers capable of rapid manufacturing on a conveyor belt system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gurka says, \u201cthe Sushi project is going very well- we are on time and will present the first prototype summer 2018.
