It provides engineering and consulting services, specialising in the aerospace industry. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Alexander Korneev, CEO at NIK stated that the joint venture would create a \u201crobust manufacturing process\u201d and allow the company to incorporate \u201cthe entire chain of product creation with the help of additive technologies.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Korneev also emphasized the advantage of being able to design and rapidly manufacture parts \u201caccording to the customer\u2019s specifications\u201d and the effective \u201cproduction implementation\u201d that would come with additive manufacturing.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_124626\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-124626\" src=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/\u0431\u0443\u0440\u0430\u043d-1024x669.jpg\" alt=\"NIK's engineers previously worked on a number of aerospace projects, including the Buran space shuttle. Photo via Buran.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>Raising the Iron Curtain<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The proposed FITNIK production site at Zhukovsky is an important R&amp;D location in Russian aviation. The location will allow existing aircraft engineering expertise to be combined with the new additive manufacturing capabilities. Photo via FIT.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>The latest in a series of agreements<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The partnership between FIT and NIK follows an agreement earlier this year between FIT and <span class=\"s2\">US-based construction firm Caterpillar INC<\/span>, providing it with aluminium 3D printing capabilities. Polish 3D printing company Sinterit also received <span class=\"s2\">\u20ac1.1 million for a rights issue<\/span> from FIT earlier this year.<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><br \/>\nFIT recently purchased five <span class=\"s2\">EOS M-400 systems<\/span> as part of an industrial 3D printing factory geared towards serial production.
