The additive manufacturing systems will be used largely to produce metal parts for UK clients such as Rolls-Royce and BAE Systems. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">50 jobs will be created in the process. Photo via Materials Solutions.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Material Solutions is a 3D printing company specialising in high temperature alloys used in making turbomachinery parts, such as turbines. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They currently operate a range of EOS SLM and DLD 3D printers: 14 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EOS M270\/290s, one M400-4 and two M400-1s. Photo by Michael Petch.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Siemens&#8217; 3D printing vision<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the announcement J\u00fcrgen Maier, CEO of Siemens UK, emphasised the importance of digital manufacturing technologies: \u201cIf the UK\u2019s manufacturing sector is to grow and thrive we must embrace digital technologies and build new industries based on them. The<strong> <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/news\/two-new-advances-show-3d-printed-future-energy-105124\/\">additive manufactured gas turbine blades<\/a> have reduced lead times and are used in the Siemens SGT-400 gas turbine.<\/p>\n<p>The new Siemens\u2019 facility in Worcester is the latest in a wave of UK investments in 3D printing. Last week <a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/news\/manchester-metropolitan-unveils-6m-3d-printing-hub-130197\/\">Manchester Metropolitan University announced it was investing \u00a36m in a new 40,000 sq ft 3D printing facility<\/a>.
