With ClearFit, Neurosurgeons can upload a CT scan to Longeviti&#8217;s Secure File Exchange where a customizable CAD model is proposed and finalized. Image via Longeviti Neuro Solutions.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><b>World&#8217;s largest 3D printed coral reef<\/b><\/p>\n<p>REEF DESIGN LAB<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (RDL) , a not for profit design studio based in Melbourne, Australia, has created what is said to be the world\u2019s largest  3D printed Reef installed in the oceans of Summer Island, Maldives. Using its Modular Artificial Reef Structure (MARS), designers at RDL created several  3D artificial reefs using lattice structures. Each reef unit was 3D printed and molded in ceramic using slip casting, then the hollow forms were filled with marine concrete and steel reinforcement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ceramic materials are used to house transplanted corals, which can be continually divided as they grow to colonize natural reefs. This technology can help coral reefs survive in warming climates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/a6aFsPbtth0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<b>Creating the fastest human-powered bikes with additive manufacturing<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Global engineering firm company, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Renishaw<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is collaborating with the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">University of Liverpool Velocipede (ULV) Team<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> as part of the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ARION project<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which aims to build a series of the fastest human-powered bikes in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Using Renishaw\u2019s additive manufacturing machines, the ULV team designed and 3D printed a metal component for the ARION4 bike called the CTS. This part attaches to the headtube to holding the front wheel in place and weighs less than 600g.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAdditive manufacturing provided more design freedom for a vital part of the transmission and steering system.
