The 3D printing industry also saw many technological advancements aiming to accelerate industrial metal additive manufacturing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This includes <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EOS<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019s M300 series of direct metal laser sintering (DMLS) 3D printers and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3D Systems<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">GF Machining Solutions<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019, DMP Factory 500.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>IMTS and the industrialization of 3D printing<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"\/service\/3d-printing\"> Industry returned<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to Chicago for the 2018 edition of IMTS. There, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">additive experts<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, such as Bertrand Humel van der Lee, the Chief Customer Operations Officer (CCOO) at <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EOS<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, discussed the increasing interest in industrial 3D printing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThere was almost immediate commercial interest in our <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">EOS M 300 system<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which we launched at the show. Overall, as production moves to more customized, shorter-term product cycles, the manufacturers we\u2019re working with are finding immediate value in bringing in more machines.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Also at IMTS, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3D Systems and GF Machining Solutions, unveiled the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">DMP Factory 500<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, an industrial, automated metal 3D printing system for high-quality, large part production.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_139468\" style=\"width: 1000px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-139468\" src=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/EOS_M300_Content.jpg\" alt=\"EOS M 300 series metal 3D printers. Image via EOS.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In other news, with the aim of creating a complete production cell for additive manufacturing aluminum components, the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NextGenAM<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> project established its <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">first pilot plant<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in Varel, Northern Germany.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, metal additive manufacturing materials producer <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Metalysis<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> entered into <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">industrial-scale production<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of its metal powders. As a result, the company\u2019s plant is capable of producing in the region of 10,000 \u2013 100,000 kg+ (10s to 100s of tonnes) of metal powders. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similarly, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aurora Labs<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a metal 3D printer manufacturer based in Australia, positioned itself at the forefront of metal 3D printing technology, with the ongoing development of its <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">latest system, the large-format <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alpha 3D printer<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_140000\" style=\"width: 1366px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-140000\" src=\"https:\/\/3dprintingindustry.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/alpha.png\" alt=\"The Alpha 3D printer. The show displayed a number of desktop 3D printers for high-quality FFF additive manufacturing as well as <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">multi-material 3D micro-fabrication. At the event, Professor <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leroy \u201cLee\u201d Cronin<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Regius Chair of Chemistry at the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">University of Glasgow<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, described how his team is using 3D printed parts for chemical computers.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe 3D printed parts are used as the containers for chemical reactions and act as holders to make the cellular array. The first new language are now available in Polish, Spanish and Chinese. The Polish version was done in collaboration with Polish 3D Technology &amp; Education supplier, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paxer<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, the Australian government, in partnership with 3D printing bureau and reseller, <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Objective 3D<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, announced<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> $2 million<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (AUD) in funding for a new additive manufacturing (AM) virtual hub.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What 3D printing companies and stakeholders deserve a  Industry Award?
