It was founded in 2014 and now, five years later, the company has sold over 20,000 3D printers worldwide. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;3D Prima is a fast-growing e-commerce player and we were one of the first to sell 3D-printing products online,&#8221; says Jacob M\u00e5rtensson, founder and CEO of 3D Prima. <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cFrom the beginning it has been important that a new partner has an understanding of our business model. inkClub has both the experience and the e-commerce expertise that we believe is important now when 3D prima is growing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/xn_oE-a9n4Q\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><b>The growing 3D printing market <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to selling 3D printers and 3D printing supplies, 3D Prima also manufactures two filament brands named Prima SELECT and Prime VALUE. Both of these are produced at 3D Prima\u2019s European facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, inkClub is an online retailer, specializing in 2D printers, toners, and office supplies ranging from coffee to computer accessories. According to inkClub the choice to invest in a 3D printing company was made after considering the growth potential of the industry. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Martin Benckert, CEO of inkClub said, \u201cWe see a strong future in 3D printing. It opens a whole new market for us in addition to the established ink and toner market.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;The segment shows high market potential and we find it extra exciting to invest in this niche player. Image via 3D Prima.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><b>Bringing 2D and 3D together<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The deal between the two companies was brokered by Jarl Securities, a Swedish equity research company, which acted as a financial advisor to 3D Prima. M\u00e5rtensson said, \u201cJarl Securities played an important role helping us finding a new partner and executing this structured process. They understand the e-commerce market and the team at Jarl Securities exceeded all of our expectations.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jarl Securities operates under CatCap, a Hamburg-based investment bank, which acquired Jarl Securities last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On its role in the recent business deal, Vice President of Jarl Securities, Magnus Haegermark, commented, \u201cWe are very pleased to have found a strategic partner for 3D Prima.
