Of this revenue, Software constitutes \u20ac855.3 million for Q1 2019, a \u20ac120 million and 16.35% increase on the same period in 2018 which was \u20ac735.10 million. The remaining \u20ac103.6 million for Q1 2019 is derived from Dassault Syst\u00e8mes Services, such as consultation and orders through the 3DEXPERIENCE Marketplace. Software revenue increased double-digits in 7 out of the 11 industries we cover, all three core and several of our diversification industries, including High Tech, Life Sciences and Home &amp; Lifestyle included.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On a regional basis, we saw strength in all three regions, led by 3DEXPERIENCE and large wins in newer brands as well. We are benefiting from our geo diversification as we continue to build out our market presence in key geographies.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Several notable geos in the quarter were China, Southern Europe and North America. 3DEXPERIENCE software revenue increased 26%. 3DEXPERIENCE licenses revenue increased 25% and represented 40% of related licenses in the quarter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Dassault Syst\u00e8mes Q1 2019 revenue by product line<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a multi-product platform, Dassault Syst\u00e8mes&#8217; 3DEXPERIENCE is a software engine that connects all of the company&#8217;s applications from 3D design and simulation, to social &amp; collaboration and information intelligence. The flagship CAD application, SOLIDWORKS is part of the 3DEXPERIENCE family, but it can also be used independently of the other programs offered by Dassault, such as product design platform CATIA, and business modeling and planning app ENOVIA. This is followed by SOLIDWORKS, generating \u20ac191.4 million in Q1 2019, and then ENOVIA, which reported \u20ac92.3 million in the same quarter. Remaining applications from Dassault generated a combined revenue of \u20ac301.5 million in Q1 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Geographically, as highlighted by Charl\u00e8s, Europe was the company&#8217;s strongest region in the quarter, providing a Software revenue of \u20ac364.9 million. This was followed by the Americas, which also experienced the strongest growth (26%) in the period, reporting \u20ac264.9 million in Software revenue for Q1 2019. of \u20ac215.8 million, compared to an operating income for the same period in 2018 of \u20ac178.7 million. Net income for Q1 2019 was \u20ac158 million, compared to \u20ac136 million in Q1 2018. The diluted net income per share for Q1 2019 was \u20ac0.62, compared to \u20ac0.53 in Q1 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The company started the period with \u20ac2.8 million in cash and cash equivalents. It ends Q1 2019 with nearing \u20ac2.9 million in cash and cash equivalents. For comparison, at the end of Q1 2018, the company had \u20ac2.8 million in cash and cash equivalents, after starting the period with \u20ac2.5 million.<\/p>\n<p><strong>On track to $0.5 billion business?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In analyst questions at the end of the yesterday&#8217;s earnings call, Charl\u00e8s was also asked about the company&#8217;s recent acquisition of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software specialist IQMS which was confirmed in December 2018. With the help of this acquisition, Dassault is persuing plans to become a $0.5 billion dollar business. Commenting on IQMS, Charl\u00e8s said that &#8220;we are on a good start&#8221; and the company is hopeful of seeing visible revenue growth from the acquisition before year-end.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, he said:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The ambition to be a $0.5 billion brand is really a possible ambition.
