If you have played a Rusty Lake game, you know the feeling: you spot a clock, a boat, or an animal in a suit, and immediately wonder what terrible thing is about to happen.

Now imagine finding those things on your desk.

For Halloween, we gathered nine fan-made Rusty Lake creations. Some are 3D printed, one is laser engraved, and a few have been turned into objects you can actually use. They are strange, charming, and just a little unsettling, exactly as they should be.

That lone figure rowing across the lake is hard to forget. One maker gave Mr. Crow and his boat a life beyond the screen as a small black model.

The piece works because its silhouette is so familiar. You can make out the hat, the oar, and the boat without needing bright colors or a detailed face. The maker shared two 3D model versions: one showing the boat down to the waterline, and another showing the full hull.

Put it on a shelf with the lights turned low, and it looks as though Mr. Crow might be on his way to collect someone.

Another creator somehow fitted Mr. Crow and the animal-headed guests of Rusty Lake Hotel into a boat small enough to rest in one hand. There is a surprising amount to look at: tiny suits, distinct heads, painted details, and even Mr. Deer’s antlers.

The maker says the figures were modeled and FDM printed, then painted by hand. The result is delightful, though you can see why a project this small is demanding. Fine details and curved surfaces are where FDM layer lines become most noticeable.

If you were making a similar miniature for a smooth, paint-ready finish, SLA or LCD resin printing would be worth considering. These processes can capture smaller details and usually leave less visible layering than FDM. The parts would still need cleaning, curing, and some support-mark removal before painting, but the characters’ tiny faces and clothing could come through more clearly.

The hotel looks inviting until you remember the guest list.

One fan recreated Rusty Lake Hotel as a 3D printed miniature, complete with its pale façade, blue roof, red sky, and the little boat in front. The building is the star, but the backdrop and dark foreground are what make the whole scene feel like Rusty Lake.

It is the kind of display that rewards a second look. At first you see a neat miniature building. Then you remember what happens inside.

Few things say “Rusty Lake” quite like an impeccably dressed person with an animal’s head.

A maker shared a 3D printed bird-headed figure in a formal suit, along with photos of the work in progress. You can see the feather texture, bow tie, jacket, and separate small parts before the final paint job. The creator also describes sanding the print and applying primer to smooth the surface.

That behind-the-scenes view is half the fun. The character already looks eerie in plain gray, but you can see how much patience goes into getting a printed figure ready for color.

A broken household clock gave one fan an excellent idea: make a Rusty Lake-inspired grandfather clock instead.

From the outside, it looks almost polite. There is a cream-colored cabinet, a round clock face, and a small door below. Open that door and you find a black figure with pale eyes waiting inside.

The creator identifies the body as 3D printed and shows a clock movement installed at the back. So this is not only a game-inspired display piece; it is also a working clock. We would be checking the little door every time we walked past it.

This little armchair looks as though it belongs in a room where a puzzle has just started.

The maker calls it Rustie’s armchair and shared it as a 3D printed model. Its ornate frame and tufted-looking cushions give it the appearance of a much softer object, even though the shapes come from a print.

It is a lovely example of how a small prop can carry a whole mood. Add the right background and suddenly a miniature chair feels like part of the game world.

Need a bookmark that might make you reluctant to open your book at night?

One fan modeled and 3D printed a set of Corrupted Soul bookmarks. Their black bodies fan out in different poses, with pale eyes that catch your attention straight away.

These are simple compared with the hotel or clock, but that simplicity is the appeal. The silhouettes are instantly recognizable to Rusty Lake players, and they turn a creepy image into something you can use every day.

A collection of Rusty Lake Hotel anniversary pins deserves a better home than the side of a refrigerator. One fan made a 3D printed display frame with individual spaces for the pins and “RUSTY LAKE” across the center.

The frame can be displayed on a desk, mounted on a wall, or attached to a metal surface. It is a nice idea because the printed object does not compete with the collectibles. It gives each one a place and lets the full set tell its story.

Not every Rusty Lake image needs to become a 3D model. Some of its best artwork is meant to look like something you might find pinned to a wall in the game.

A fan used laser engraving to put Rusty Lake poster designs onto wood. One features Mental Health and Fishing, the project connected to The White Door. Another shows the “Win a Trip to Rusty Lake” design.

The maker found that clear lines and less crowded artwork worked best for engraving. You can see why: the warm wood makes the posters feel like old objects someone might have brought back from the lake. Whether that was a good idea is another question.

These projects cover quite a range: a tiny boat, a whole hotel, a working clock, bookmarks, a display frame, and engraved posters. Each maker chose a different piece of the game world to hold onto.

For anyone planning a similar project, the object gives you a clue about the process. Resin printing is a good option for tiny characters with fine details. FDM printing can work well for larger models, practical frames, and prototypes. Laser engraving suits the series’ posters and graphic designs. Painting, sanding, assembly, and a well-chosen backdrop bring the final touch of Rusty Lake weirdness.

Have a favorite game object you would love to see in real life?
