Snowbird Technologies will launch its patented Snowbird Additive Mobile Manufacturing Technology system (SAMMTech) at The Navy League\u2019s 2023 Sea-Air-Space Show, this April.<\/p>\n

SAMMTech is reported to be the first of its kind truly distributed additive manufacturing system that can print and machine larger complex metal part<\/a>s in remote locations. The patented gantry technology can perform metal additive and subtractive manufacturing while surviving harsh climates and rough terrain. Using laser-powered DED, standard welding wire can be used to repair part<\/a>s or 3D print new part<\/a>s as large as 4.5 cubic feet.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis method of 3D printing<\/a> allows for a wide range of materials from carbon steel to titanium,\u201d said Scott Morse, President of Snowbird Technologies. \u201cIn addition, any printed part<\/a> can be post-processed using the cutting mill. This combination will enable quick, high-tolerance interim and end-use part<\/a>s to be produced onsite anywhere in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

The SAMMTech system is incorporated inside standard-sized shipping containers \u2013 allowing it to be easily mobilized.<\/p>\n
