No one likes to do these stories but they have to be reported: 3D printed manufacturer Rize 3D, a company that was offering a unique mix of extrusion and piezo-jetting for full-color 3D printing<\/a> capabilities, has shut down. This actually happened a few months ago but, as we said earlier, no one likes to do these stories. The company\u2019s special media accounts have been silent for a few months now and a new company, Palitra, has been established to offer support for existing Rize 3D customers.<\/p>\n

We have often been critical of companies that ended up failing for a lack of vision and investments to back up that vision. But Rize 3D was not one of them. The company always proactively reached out to industry media and, while it had not yet grown to the point of investing to drive significant market expansion, the managerial and marketing teams were clearly working towards that goal.<\/p>\n

Rize\u2019s patented Augmented Polymer Deposition (APD) 3D printing<\/a> technology just proved too niche and suited for too small a range of possible application<\/a>s. It enabled multi-material printing with minimal post-processing and the sustainable use of safe, non-toxic and recyclable materials. and targeted intelligent products that increasingly require part<\/a>s with variable materials, which include mechanic<\/a>al, electrical and chemical properties. The Rize inclusive APD process fused them into unified part<\/a>s, enabling innovators to deliver unprecedented customer experiences. It also offered multi-material, full-color capabilities at a lower cost and higher speeds than material jetting processes but not to the same level of realism and definition, and it was too costly to compete with standard material extrusion.<\/p>\n

A new company, Palitra, has been established for serving current Rize 3D printer owners and the equipment purchased from RIZE in the past. While building a new team, they are working to reply and help customers with any issues that might arise as quickly as possible. To receive support, Rize system owners can email support@palitra3d.com with their name, company, printer & a brief summary of how they can help. Palitra is also operating as a supplier for all RIZIUM filament previously provided by RIZE. An online store is in the works.<\/p>\n
