PrintSky, a French joint venture between Sogeclair and AddUp, created in 2019, and specialized in developing and manufacturing complex metal 3D printing<\/a> components, has been selected by Collins Aerospace to part<\/a>icipate in its research program for a new generation of flight actuation.<\/p>\n

Supported by the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) as part<\/a> of the France Relance initiative, this program focuses on developing new technologies for a more sustainable aviation industry by 2030. PrintSky will bring its expertise in design, manufacturing, and qualification of additive manufacturing part<\/a>s in the aerospace<\/a> industry, to this project.<\/p>\n

An electromechanic<\/a>al actuation is a complex system integrating various components (sensors, engines, electronic cards, etc). The structure of these actuation systems, designed and manufactured by PrintSky, is intended to ensure several functions \u2013 to resist mechanic<\/a>al loads, to dissipate the heat emitted by the components, or to be tight and insensible to electromagnetic disturbances. Given the complexity and criticality of the structure \u2013 it is a well-suited application<\/a> for additive manufacturing. \u201cThanks to our technologies, we can optimize the structure of the actuation system and integrate multi-physical functions such as a heater and other peripheral part<\/a>s,\u201c explained Nicolas Correge, Sogeclair New Technologies, and PrintSky, Manager.<\/p>\n

PrintSky relies on 3D printing<\/a> technologies developed and manufactured by AddUp, in France. Thanks to AddUp\u2019s additive manufacturing, it is possible to produce complex geometrical part<\/a>s that are less bulky, lighter, and still made of durable materials \u2013 which are all vital prerequisites for companies such as Collins Aerospace. \u201cPrintSky offers a multifunctional solution for new generation equipment such as heat exchangers and electromechanic<\/a>al components so as to contribute to the transformation of the aeronautics industry and meet decarbonation challenges,\u201c added Nicolas Correge.<\/p>\n
