Rapid Shape, a German manufacturer of modern, technologically advanced 3D printers, has opened its North American headquart<\/a>ers at NC State University, in Raleigh.<\/p>\n

Rapid Shape was founded in 2011 and has been active in the dental<\/a>, jewelry, hearing aid, and industrial markets for many years. The company also benefits from the experience and good cooperation with numerous part<\/a>ners such as Straumann US, W\u00fcrth Additive Group, Opulent, Henkel, Keystone, and other local US and Canadian part<\/a>ners.<\/p>\n

Rapid Shape chose the Centennial Campus of NC State University, in Raleigh, as its North American headquart<\/a>ers because of the proximity to student and faculty talent, which includes research and development. The company is working with NC State\u2019s Center for Additive Manufacturing and Logistics (CAMAL) and its director, Ola Harrysson, to drive innovation in the 3D printing<\/a> industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cNC State provides access to top talent within walking distance of our new office. The resources and infrastructure available in CAMAL will support Rapid Shape\u2019s growth in the North American market,\u201d said Andreas Schultheiss.<\/p>\n

The company has provided equipment for university education<\/a> and training, and interdisciplinary teams are gaining hands-on experience using the 3D printers and materials in numerous projects.<\/p>\n
