The milestone printer \u2013 an AMCM M4K from EOS\u2019 AMCM business unit \u2013 is a large-scale, four-laser, high productivity system, installed at Florida-based Sintavia.<\/p>\n

As one of the world\u2019s largest metal additive manufacturers, Sintavia focuses on the production of advanced propulsion systems for the aerospace<\/a>, defense, and space industries. Unique to the AMCM M4K is its ability to 3D print<\/a> application<\/a>s up to one meter high \u2013 a feat unimaginable in additive manufacturing only a few short years ago.<\/p>\n

The delivery of EOS\u2019 1,000th machine in North America comes at a time when additive manufacturing is experiencing incredible market growth.<\/p>\n

EOS was founded in\u00a0April 1989\u00a0by Dr.\u00a0Hans Langer\u00a0in Gr\u00e4felfing,\u00a0Germany, a small municipality south of\u00a0Munich. By 1990, global brands like BMW were using EOS\u2019 STEREOS 400 stereolithography system, and within five years the company had introduced its first powder bed-based laser sintering system for manufacturing prototypes from plastic. The organization continued to develop and produce new, increasingly innovative industrial 3D print<\/a>ers in the years that followed while also undertaking a global expansion, establishing a presence in\u00a0Italy, the\u00a0United Kingdom\u00a0and\u00a0Finland. The company founded its North American headquart<\/a>ers in\u00a0Novi, Michigan, in 2001. Today EOS North America also has its technical center in\u00a0Pflugerville, Texas, and its materials engineering and production center at\u00a0Advanced Laser Materials\u00a0(ALM) in\u00a0Temple, Texas.<\/p>\n
