Materialise has introduced its new Dental Module for Magics. With dentistry becoming more digitalized, Dental Module provides dental<\/a> labs with the easy-to-use tools required to ensure a scalable 3D print<\/a>ing<\/a> process.<\/p>\n

\u201c3D print<\/a>ing<\/a> has become well established within dentistry,\u201d said Volker Schillen, Market Innovation Manager at Materialise. \u201cToday, many dental<\/a> labs have their own printers and create custom part<\/a>s for dental<\/a> restoration daily. Their next goal is optimizing the workflow so dental<\/a> specialists can reduce the amount of time spent manually preparing designs to be printed. With automated tools, specialists can instead use this time on other valuable responsibilities, such as meeting with patients.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new Dental Module is an add-on to the well-known Magics software platform. Magics offers a range of industry-leading features that allow users to easily and flexibly fix, repair, and edit their 3D files before printing. This versatile software tool is now enhanced for dental<\/a> users with the Dental Module, which offers unique and automatic printing preparation for common 3D-printed dental<\/a> application<\/a>s such as crowns, bridges, and part<\/a>ial bases.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

After uploading dental<\/a> CAD designs to the platform, the user simply clicks a button, and the software automates all the required printing preparation steps, such as labeling, nesting, and generating support structures. Tasks that could take hours to complete manually are finalized within a couple of minutes. The module also provides advanced control over processing steps through customizable processing profiles. Users can take advantage of Magics\u2019 versatile capabilities to further refine automatically generated results or process application<\/a>s not supported by the Dental Module in a tailored manner, if necessary.<\/p>\n

Materialise helps customers within a wide range of industries optimize their additive manufacturing activities. After this newest addition, there are now ten modules available for Magics users. Dental Module joins a line-up of solutions that offer automated printing preparation tasks such as support generation and 3D nesting<\/p>\n
