In just the first three years, that seed grew into an over $100M venture with an even greater potential.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/8458978210100638069.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/7559888458858760217.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/1350335705921303085.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/2906090583996983081.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/3702620554502118994.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/2501269889675970873.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/8465312464258079182.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Founded by the current CEO Kevin Czinger, Divergent\u2019s patented, end-to-end software-hardware solution incorporated 3D metal printing into the design, engineering and manufacturing of advanced <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vehicle<\/a> structures for the <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">automotive<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/aerospace\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">aerospace<\/a> industries. From very early one, its proprietary Divergent Production System was tailored to automate structural design and optimization for volume manufacturing of lightweight structures without upfront, capital-intensive factory and tooling investments.<\/p>\n<h2>On the road to NXG<\/h2>\n<p>In 2019 Divergent Technologies (Divergent 3D) purchased five pre-production next-generation AM systems from SLM Solutions, with the ultimate aim of manufacturing <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3D print<\/a>ed components for hypercars. The two companies have been working under a Joint Development P<a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/art\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">art<\/a>nership (JDP) since 2017.<\/p>\n<p>That JDP involved the development of a \u201cnext-generation multi-laser machine\u201d that can be used to fabricate metal <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">automotive<\/a> components and <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/aerospace\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">aerospace<\/a> p<a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/art\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">art<\/a>s (which later became the 12-laser NXG system). Working towards that goal, SLM Solutions\u2019 five \u201cpre-production\u201d machines have been used for \u201cfactory integration and system bulletproofing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/5536216043873666778.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Divergent\u2019s vision is to change the car manufacturing landscape by fabricating printable <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">automotive<\/a> chassis and other metal structures at localized AM production centers. Over the last few years, the company has significantly heightened its reputation after creating functional <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3D print<\/a>ed <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vehicle<\/a>s including the Blade supercar, once driven by Jay Leno.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, Divergent began a series production of safety-critical structures for OEM customers in the US and Europe and then proceeded to a customer rollout of advanced manufacturing facilities. The company is p<a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/art\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">art<\/a>icipating in \u201ca number of major global carmaker programs,\u201d and ultimately intends to operate 20 next-generation <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3D print<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ing<\/a> systems at its factory.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the new <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/insights\/applications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">application<\/a>s shown were the front qu<a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/art\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">art<\/a>er-section of its \u201cfully functional and crashworthy\u201d hypercar, complete with <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3D print<\/a>ed chassis. Eventually, however, all Divergent components will be made using the jointly developed next-generation machines.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlignment between the two companies across machines, software and materials will drive a step change from standalone AM machines to fully integrated sm<a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/art\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">art<\/a> factories,\u201d said Kevin Czinger, Founder and CEO of Divergent, at the time.<\/p>\n<h2>Enter Czinger 21C<\/h2>\n<p>The new Czinger company was founded in 2020 in LA by Divergent3D founder Kevin Czinger, to produce <em>its<\/em> first hypercar, the Czinger 21C. Created by \u201c21st-century <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/art\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">art<\/a>isans\u201d using additive manufacturing technologies, the innovative hypercar will made its global debut at the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show that same year<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Czinger is a visionary in the <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">automotive<\/a> sector, so it comes as no big surprise that he wants his name to be represented on one of his hypercars. His latest creation, the Czinger 21C, is his new company\u2019s first production <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vehicle<\/a> and bears all the hallmarks of his future-ready <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vehicle<\/a> designs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/7017197414235142451.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/4097877355024893165.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/5686469797515429988.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Designed, built and engineered by an LA-based team, the Czinger 21C is described as being the \u201cfirst production <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vehicle<\/a> of its time to use additive manufacturing methods to create performance-engineered componentry of this complexity, size and scale.\u201d Czinger\u2019s hypercar is based on an in-line seating configuration and integrates a hybrid powertrain that was developed in house. The <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vehicle<\/a> also integrates a number of components produced using advanced manufacturing technologies, like <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3D print<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The company says of its first production <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/automotive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vehicle<\/a>: \u201cCzinger is the first of its kind to develop novel additive manufacturing technologies to devise a groundbreaking hypercar. From a cutting-edge chassis and bespoke structures to pioneering high-performance components, Czinger has crafted a revolutionary hypercar fit for the 21st century.<\/p>\n<h2>Real tool-less manufacturing<\/h2>\n<p>Today the Czinger 21C is a real hypercar with 1250 BHP of hybrid power \u2013 950 from the twin-turbo V8 and 300 from the EV system.
