The purpose of the Poly<a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/sls-rapid-prototyping-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SLS<\/a> project was to develop and test a new styrene-based polymer compound for Selective Laser Sintering. A p<a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/art\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">art<\/a>icular focus of the project was on researching <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/energy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">energy<\/a> and material requirements.<\/p>\n<p>A direct <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/energy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">energy<\/a> saving of 25% was achieved from the <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3D print<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ing<\/a> equipment when using the new styrenics polymer, which resulted from lower process temperatures and shorter heating and cooling phases. These shorter phases also improved the time needed to complete printing jobs, with processing times 7.5 percent shorter than with PA12.<\/p>\n<p>Bianca Wilhelmus, Global Application Development Manager at INEOS Styrolution and Project Lead for Poly<a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/sls-rapid-prototyping-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SLS<\/a>, said that: \u201cStyrenics based materials continue to amaze me.
