It features a customizable layout and LED backlighting. Perfect for customizing keys to match your typing style. The 3D parts were designed for small build platforms. Use the stem geometry found in our 123D design file or import the <strong>stemKey.stl<\/strong> file into your CAD program.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" class=\"wp-image-177212 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Pasted-into-Tips-for-3D-Printing-Custom-Keycaps-for-Mechical-Keyboards-25.png\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"row-fluid build-text\">\n<h3>Keycap Stem: FDM<\/h3>\n<p>You&#8217;ll want to adjust the tolerences on the stem when printing with FDM printers. Translucent PLA colors aren&#8217;t completely see through. As layers get stacked on top of each other, objects will start to look more opaque . So we lowered the \u201c<strong>Tip Height<\/strong>\u201d option down to around <strong>1.4mm &#8211; 0.70mm<\/strong>. This will avoid generating any weird geometry when creating supports.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll also drop the <strong>Tip Diameter<\/strong> to <strong>.3mm &#8211; .8mm<\/strong> so that it\u2019s not so thick.<\/p>\n<p>Now when we create supports they come out clean. A few more on the side of the connector should be enough for it to print properly.<\/p>\n<p>Once that&#8217;s looking good we\u2019ll export the STL and upload it to the printer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"611\" class=\"wp-image-177219 size-full aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/Pasted-into-Tips-for-3D-Printing-Custom-Keycaps-for-Mechical-Keyboards-32.png\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Layout orientation: FDM<\/h3>\n<p>For FDM printers, you&#8217;ll want to layout the keycaps with the top of the key facing upward.
