ICON will also dedicate a division of the company to focus on space.<\/p>\n<p>Other firms have theorized the use of construction <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3D print<\/a>ing<\/a> for interplanetary habitats. The underlying idea is that human habitats need to be ready before humans get to a planet. So they need to be built automatically, by robots, <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3D print<\/a>ers and <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3D print<\/a>ing<\/a> robots. Construction <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3D print<\/a>ing<\/a> pioneer Contour Crafting saw space habitats as one of the first <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/insights\/applications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">application<\/a>s for the technology that goes by the same name. Another pioneer in this field, D-Shape, worked with the ESA and Norman Fosters on <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3D print<\/a>ed Lunar habitats (read more about this in our recent Aerospace AMFocus 2020 eBook). Other firms (such as Ai SpaceFactory) have presented <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/service\/3d-printing-service\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">3D print<\/a>ed habitat projects for Mars colonization in a recent contest run by NASA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBuilding humanity\u2019s first home on another world will be the most ambitious construction project in human history and will push science, engineering, technology, and <a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/architecture\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">architecture<\/a> to literal new heights,\u201d said Jason Ballard, Co-founder and CEO of ICON. \u201cNASA\u2019s investment in space-age technologies like this can not only help to advance humanity\u2019s future in space, but also to solve very real, vexing problems we face on E<a href=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/news\/topics\/art\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">art<\/a>h.
