These are the skills needed to make this item. He recently released a video detailing the project.<\/p>\n<p>Denton has been making Lego karts for his nephew and decided to make them bigger. One is 5 times the normal size, but still too small to allow his nephew to sit down. Therefore, Denton decided to make it bigger, not only for his nephew, but also for him to sit down and ride the bike. Yes, he intends to power the vehicle electrically. It is not as simple as simply expanding the model. Some areas must be strengthened.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_101414\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-101414\" style=\"width: 720px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-101414\" src=\"https:\/\/facfox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-asset_img_5eaf9707631f4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"720\" height=\"390\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-101414\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">One of the larger parts made for the 3D printed Go-Kart [Source: YouTube]<\/figcaption><\/figure>Denton uses a pair of TAZ 6 3D printers equipped with a large-capacity extruder and LulzBot Mini 2, which can 3D print the &#8220;large amounts of parts&#8221; needed to manufacture Lego karts.<\/p>\n<p>Denton used Polymaker&#8217;s PolyMax material, which is an enhanced version of PLA. It is easy to 3D print and is very suitable for projects such as this, because the material&#8217;s low warpage coefficient and the required larger parts work well.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"XXL LEGO Go-Kart! | Design &amp; Build | #1 - Mantis Hacks\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ae7XLg3RFWY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The size of the parts is very obvious. Some parts need to be beaten in place with a mallet.<\/p>\n<p>Denton showed the entire assembly process in the video, which is very interesting because he must regularly test the mechanical movements of the substructures before they can be embedded in the vehicle as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>After assembly, the heavy kart really supports the weight of Denton, and the steering function is very powerful.<\/p>\n<p>In Denton&#8217;s next video, he intends to complete the project by adding a seat and combining electric motors and batteries. I really want to know how fast this super large LEGO car can travel.<\/p>\n<p>This project is a great example of how to use a small desktop 3D printer to create huge, life-sized objects.
