Custom manufacturing marine parts: thyssenkrupp signs LoI to partner with Wilhelmsen Ships Services AM Industry

thyssenkrupp is extending its gains in marine additive manufacturing by signing a letter of intent as a prelude to entering a joint venture with Wilhemsen Ships Services for custom manufacturing marine parts. The companies will collaborate on delivering maritime spare parts using 3D printing. thyssenkrupp, which already deploys additive manufacturing at its operations on the Kiel Fjord in Germany, joins with Wilhemsen’s experience in civil marine repairs. The joint venture facilitates repairs on older vessels. The companies expect to headquarter this effort in Singapore. The joint venture positions the companies as the world leader in maritime AM.

3D Printhuset refocuses construction 3D printing efforts in new company, COBOD International Construction 3D Printing

Danish construction 3D printing company 3D Printhuset, known for its BOD housing technology, will, from here on out, conduct all of its construction 3D printing activities through the newly established company COBOD International. The new company, which will be taking on the selling and manufacturing of the recently launched BOD2 construction 3D printer, was founded to meet a growing demand for 3D Printhuset’s construction technology.
