Wear eye protection and gloves to protect the skin and eyes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Be careful when finishing delicate parts to avoid breaking off small features. Small files and tweezers can also help with highly detailed parts.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/img.facfox.com\/imgs\/2021\/10\/5ad708bea0829351.png\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"kb-anchor\">Dry sanding<\/h2>\n<p>Removing support touchpoints sometimes leaves raised marks and divots on a part\u2019s surface. To reduce these marks, sand the surface with sandpaper.<\/p>\n<div class=\"warning\">\n<h3>CAUTION:<\/h3>\n<p>Follow general safety precautions when sanding plastics. Wear a face mask to prevent breathing in dust. Wear gloves to keep dust off hands, or wash hands thoroughly after sanding a part. Consider wet sanding to reduce dust accumulation and exposure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Begin with the lowest or roughest grit sandpaper and sand surfaces as desired. Use mineral oil or even water to wet sand printed parts. Wear gloves to keep dust and sanding liquid off hands.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/img.facfox.com\/imgs\/2021\/10\/1f541effbcef873a.png\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"kb-anchor\">Optional post-processing<\/h2>\n<p>Depending on the part&#8217;s purpose, you may wish to post-process parts even further to smooth surfaces or achieve a glossy finish. For a finer, more polished surface, repeat the sanding step with progressively finer grit sandpaper.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/img.facfox.com\/imgs\/2021\/10\/7ce3e2659054596c.png\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Plastic polishes can also help achieve a smooth surface finish. Spray finished parts with a UV-resistant clear coat.<\/p>\n<h3>Finishing with mineral oil<\/h3>\n<p>Wipe the part with a microfiber cloth and a few drops of mineral oil.
