Has this ever happened to you? This is most likely a lens issue. The correct lens is just as important as the right parameters and optimal focus adjustment.<\/p>\n<p>To select the correct lens, you must consider the following:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<section id=\"c14532\" class=\"marginbottom-0\" data-animation-classes=\"\">\n<div class=\"ce-textpic\">\n<ul>\n<li>Output of your laser device<\/li>\n<li>Material<\/li>\n<li>Detail level of the graphics<\/li>\n<li>Resolution (dpi)<\/li>\n<li>Thickness of the material<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<header class=\"align-\">\n<h2>The rule of thumb:<\/h2>\n<\/header>\n<p>The more delicate and detailed the graphics are, the smaller the lens should be chosen. For cutting thick materials, lenses of maximum size are recommended. Engraving on heat-sensitive materials (e. g. laminate) if large areas have to be removed completely<\/td>\n<td>High laser power, acrylic &lt;12 mm, wood of medium hardness &lt;15 mm<br \/>\nBetter quality of edges during laser cutting than for lower focal distances<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<th>2.5 inch CO<sub>2<\/sub> clearance lens<\/th>\n<td>Used mainly for cutting<\/td>\n<td>See 2.5 inch lens.<br \/>\nIncreases the distance between laser head and material. We will be happy to assist you in selecting the ideal lens.<\/p>\n<header class=\"section align-\">\n<h2>Technical features in plain terms<\/h2>\n<\/header>\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<section id=\"c14521\" class=\"marginbottom-0\" data-animation-classes=\"\">\n<div class=\"ce-textpic\">\n<p>The following is a glossary of the terms used to discuss lenses.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"c14518\" class=\"marginbottom-0\" data-animation-classes=\"\">\n<div class=\"ce-textpic\">\n<div class=\"ce-gallery\" data-ce-columns=\"1\" data-ce-images=\"1\">\n<div class=\"ce-row\">\n<div class=\"ce-column\">\n<div class=\"ce-media\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/img.facfox.com\/imgs\/2021\/07\/53216d97b97a778e.png\" \/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"c14519\" class=\"marginbottom-0\" data-animation-classes=\"\">\n<div class=\"ce-textpic\">\n<h3>Focal length<\/h3>\n<p>Distance between the lens and the point of the smallest beam diameter (= focus).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"c14533\" class=\"marginbottom-0\" data-animation-classes=\"\">\n<div class=\"ce-textpic\">\n<h3>Focus<\/h3>\n<p>The area where the laser beam is optimally focused and converges to the smallest possible beam diameter.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<section id=\"c14522\" class=\"marginbottom-0\" data-animation-classes=\"\">\n<div class=\"ce-textpic\">\n<h3>Beam diameter<\/h3>\n<p>The diameter of the laser beam which becomes greater and greater before and behind the focus.<\/p>\n<p>The longer the focal distance of the lens, the greater the beam diameter. The energy of the laser is focused by the lens onto a defined focal point. The greater the focal distance of the lens, the greater also the surface onto which the energy of the laser is applied. This may mean that if you use a large lens, the material is heated rather than cut.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"c14524\" class=\"marginbottom-0\" data-animation-classes=\"\">\n<div class=\"ce-textpic\">\n<h3>Focus tolerance (depth of focus)<\/h3>\n<p>The area in which the beam has the smallest diameter.<\/p>\n<p>The larger the lens (= the larger the focal length of the lens), the longer the focal tolerance. This means that the focus tolerance of a 5\u201d lens will be twice that of a 2.5\u201d lens.
